The old lady from Beska

I was travelling from Belgrade to Novi Sad. ( April 2007 )
In the train I noticed an old lady... knitting .
She was interesting... looked and dressed like someone out of that space.... I asked her if I could take some photographs of her.
She was happy about it and that's how we started our conversation. She told me a lot about herself...almost all her life story.... Very interesting...
The conductor was approaching us... She asked me for the name of the last stop which train just left.
That was Indjija train station.

When conductor came he asked : - Old Lady where are you going ?-
She said:-Indjija.-
He said :- Sorry old lady but we just passed the Indjija station.-
The old lady started to yell .
-O, my god, o my god.... what shall I do now? O . poor me..STOP THE TRAIN>>>-
The conductor was so sorry for her. He said: - I can not stop the train... Just calm down ... Continue travelling to Novi Sad and get off the train...There is another train in 20 min going towards Belgrade....

I was so upset and I thought that I contributed to all that aggravation as I was talking to the old women and distracted her of getting off at her station.
I said : -I will pay for your ticket....Sorry... I am so sorry....-
But women just kept smiling.

When conductor left she whispered to me: - I never pay for ticket ..I always tell them the last station I pass.... I travel free always.... Anyway I am going to Novi sad to the market to sell my knitted staff.......-


I had such a laugh ..... Still........ I Gave her 20 euros.
